Dr. Shusuke Takahara
Dr. Takahara received his B.A. in History from Kwansei Gakuin University in 1992, and his M.A. in Political History from Kobe University in 1996; last year he received his doctorate in Political History from the same university, and is now engaged in post-doctoral research, while lecturing at Doshisha University. He was a Ministry of Education research fellow from 1996-1998, and a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania from 1999-2000.
His publications include "The Wilson Administration and the Conclusion of the Lansing-Ishii Agreement", which came out (in Japanese) in the Kobe Law Journal, Vol. 7 No.3 (December 1997). The subject of his Ph.D. dissertation, which is related to the paper he will present to us, was "Woodrow Wilson seiken no tai-Nichi seisaku -- 1913-1921" (Woodrow Wilson's Foreign Policy toward Japan, 1913-1921).
