Sir Hugh Cortazzi

Sir Hugh was British Ambassador to Japan (1980-84) and a former ASJ President. His writings about Japan are extensive. Sir Hugh was Chairman of the Council of the Japan Society in London. He is editor of volumes IV and V of the "Biographical Portraits." His "biographies" of Alcock and others were some of these portraits.
