Professor Lia Beretta
Professor Beretta has been a professor of Italian at Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia, as well as Waseda University, and a cultural attache and cultural affairs officer in Tokyo, New York and Kyoto. As a cultural adviser she has served on the Study Commission for the Application of Civic Design to Public Works (1990-92) and the committee for the preparation of the Japanese Pavilion for the 1992 Ship and Sea Exhibition in Genoa. In 1976 she was one of the team of organizers of the exhibition devoted to Chiossone at the Italian Cultural Institute, Tokyo, and in 1991 she delivered a lecture on him at the Accademia Italiana in London.
