Professor Robert D. Eldridge
Dr. Robert Eldridge is Associate Professor of International Public Systems in the School of International Public Policy, Osaka University. He is also concurrently a research associate in the Institute of Asian Cultural Studies at International Christian University in Tokyo. He received his B.A., cum laude with High Departmental Honors in International Relations from Lynchburg College of Virginia in 1990.  From 1992 to 1994 he took a Japanese language course at the Osaka Institute of Foreign Studies, and obtained an Advanced Language Proficiency Certificate. He then attended the graduate school of law at Kobe University, and received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science (1996 and 1999). In 1999 he won the top prize of the Yomiuri Rondan Shinjinsho.. He was then engaged in research as a fellow of the Suntory Foundation, Osaka, and subsequently of the Research Institute for Peace and Security, Tokyo.
