HIH Prince Takamado

It was with profound distress that we received the shocking news of the sudden death of our Patron, H.I.H. Prince Takamado, on November 21st. We wish to offer our deepest sympathy to H.I.H. Princess Takamado and their daughters, as also to his parents and brothers. His Highness was an enthusiastic supporter of the Society. He attended many of our meetings, including three special events in this our anniversary year, and had also planned to attend the December meeting and the AGM in January. In addition, he made his own unique contribution when he addressed us on the subject of his distinctive collection of netsuke. We are greatly saddened to think that his charm, his disarming humour, his infectious enthusiasm, and his invaluable suggestions, will be missing from our meetings.
