Other Asiatic Societies


During the past two centuries, several societies akin to The Asiatic Society of Japan were established in Asia. For those interested in such long-standing Asiatic societies, the following links provide not only current information, but also fascinating historical descriptions on how those organizations were founded and developed.

If you are a member of one of the five fellow Asiatic societies listed below, you are cordially invited to attend lectures and events of The Asiatic Society of Japan at no charge. Moreover, you may enjoy other 'guest member' reciprocal rights (such as use of the library) when visiting Japan:
