Membership - Voting rights Spouse Membership & Senior Citizen Membership Categories (JPY3,000) This category is designed for spouses of regular members. Senior Citizens have the right to opt for this category, which does not include the Transactions. Seniors are also entitled to voting rights and ten 'Unaccompanied Guest' passes to lectures: - Unlimited attendance for self and one accompanied guest at all lectures Student Membership Category (JPY2,000) There is no maximum age restriction for this category, but student applicants must show proof of registration at a higher educational institution (e.g., university or college) or high school: Invitations to Annual General Meeting and other special events Corporate Membership Category Participation in Society activities is an excellent platform for building more meaningful and enduring business relationships through shared interests. Corporate memberships can also be used as part of your incentive program to reward outstanding employees who have made noteworthy contributions to your firm: - Complimentary regular memberships for the head of the company as well as the executive who is applying on behalf of the company for corporate membership. Other Membership Categories Institutional memberships are available for libraries and universities for JPY20,000. Member Emeritus. In honour of long-tem loyalty and contributions to the Society, complimentary memberships are bestowed to those over 80 and who have been members for at least ten years. Gift Membership makes a splendid gift for anyone with a serious interest in Japan. Moreover, active members may bestow membership upon a friend or colleague at 10% off any of the membership rates. Life Membership. Regular membership for life can be purchased for JPY150,000. Sustaining Membership. The Society depends on the generosity of its members for much of its funding. Those contributing JPY15,000 or more a year are Sustaining Members and are recognizes as such in the Transactions. Unemployed/Hardship Membership. The Society is committed to ensuring that all have access to its activities. If you are keen on joining The Society, but believe that the membership fees would impose a hardship, please contact The Society's Office. Corporate Sponsorship/Advertising Corporate sponsorship and advertising in cooperation with The Society offers a rare opportunity to promote your business among a special demographic. Only firms that have a mutually beneficial strategic fit with the Society and have a demonstrated record of excellence as corporate citizens will be considered.
